DEALER DUTIES: ENTERING THE MIKE STONE NEW ZONE
This was one of those days that I, unfortunately, was not able to see my daughter before bedtime or put her down for it, but all for good reason..part of my job as the visionary for the Sound of Art, stay up on the latest developments on SOArtist works…So for that reason I trekked to Brooklyn to PRATT’s campus to meet up with SOArtist Mike Stone. Walking the the campus was just as inspirational as what I was about to see from Mike Stone.
Mike Stone, known mostly for his abstract based work, has decided to give me a look into the range of talent and thought he possesses. It was in Mike Stone’s studio, that he gave me some insight on what new direction he was taking his artistic talents in. I was pleasantly surprised. While the collection is not complete, we now have an idea of what to expect from Mike Stone and his hand skills.
DEALER DUTIES: Eddie Gets the Stains In
One of the many duties I have as the visionary for the Sound of Art is keeping our mission of connecting our collective of emerging artists with new and established art buyers and collectors. So allow me to introduce you to ED UBIERA and one of his newest collections.
Most of us drink coffee and we enjoy it its taste, texture and tempeture(depending on our prefrence)…but what happens if you spill your precious coffee on some important work documents, personal bills or even a sweet old greeting card from grandma…
well lets see, knowing most of you humans, you jump up from where ever you’re sitting or standing, which will be followed by the expected “SHIIIIT!” or “DAAAAMN!” then you’ll shake off the java puddle on the paper or blot it dry with a paper towel…pretty much do anything to salvage this vicitimzed piece of paper…and probably spend the rest of your day swearing til the good feeling goes away..but again, thats what most humans would do….Not the case with SOArtist ED UBIERA…
Mr. Chicken and Robots will look at coffee spilling situation as an opportunity to create…out of what most would see as a coffee cotastrphy. While other artists stick to paint and paint brushes, Ed goes for something a lil more non-traditional…give him stains, coffee spills and he’ll give DOPE ART. The long time SOA family memeber is back! Thank you Mr. Ed.
