YO GABBA GABBA VS. AFRO PUNK
So its day 933 of finding myself smack dab in between this “lifestyle tug of war” i created for myself, …being pulled from both ends. On one end, its The DADDY, on the other end its The DEALER…never knowing who will yank who into that muddy pit.
On this day, I found myself in the daily struggle of…The Daddy pulling me to stick to my mission: Provide the daughter with the ultimate New York City Summer Experience(which will hopefully include an open fire hydrant). And on this particular day, she was as excited as she was nonchalant( you know, that whole 2 year old short term memory thingy they got) about seeing her favorite band of Cuddly Weirdos, Yo Gabba Gabba (damn i wish i was in that smoke filled room, when they came up with that name) at Central Park’s SummerStage. As a grown -ass man, i have to admit, this is the best show to watch with your kids.
Meanwhile, the other side, The Dealer was pulling me to the Afro-Punk Block Party in Brooklyn, which was closing out the Afro-Punk Festival. I’ve never experienced Afro-Punk, but because some of the artist i rep. were there, had booths, where they were selling some of their art-based merchandise; i was looking for new Sound of Art inspiration and was excited about adding a new experience to my life, i was really drawn to the idea of attending…
Well one look at the picture and you can tell who ended up pulling themselves from the mud-pit…
